Dr. Greg Gilbaugh, DDS
Hello, my name is Greg Gilbaugh and I started The Family Dental Center in 1986.
I attended the University of Iowa on a football scholarship which provided me with many great memories, (along with a couple degenerative knees). I graduated from the University of Iowa College of Dentistry in 1985, and completed residency training in Advanced General Dentistry in 1986. That training established the foundation to pursue a deep desire I had to serve people with compassion and skill in a field that I truly love and am passionate about. I founded The Family Dental Center with a desire to bring together a team of highly skilled and caring people that would share in the vision of providing an exceptional dental experience for individuals and their families as well as having a positive impact on our community. Today that desire and mission grows into reality. I have been married to my best friend Laura since 1985, and we live here in Coralville along with our nine children. I am also a follower of Jesus Christ which provides me the privilege of being part of the pastoral team at Grace Community Church in North Liberty, Iowa. I look forward to serving you and your family and I will do my very best to make your experience with us one that is truly exceptional! I retired from clinical dentistry as of September 2017.
Dr. Dawn Stultz, DDS, MS
My name is Dawn Stultz and I am the orthodontist at The Family Dental Center. I have had the privilege of being part of The Family Dental Center team since 2001.
After obtaining my dental degree from the University of Iowa, I completed a residency in orthodontics where I received a Masters Degree and Certificate in orthodontics. Currently I am a member of the American Association of Orthodontists, Iowa Society of Orthodontists, American Dental Association, and Iowa Dental Association. I enjoy providing orthodontic treatment for children, teens, and adults. Each person is unique and his or her treatment options are tailored to his or her individual needs and desires. I strive to make your orthodontic care a positive experience in which you are excited with the transformation of your smile. Outside of work I spend time with my husband and three boys on our farm. I also love volunteering at our children’s school, leading children’s and mother’s groups at church, shooting archery, and hiking outdoors. I look forward to seeing you!
Dr. Chad Hanneman, DDS
My name is Chad Hanneman, and I am a general dentist at The Family Dental Center. I joined the practice in August of 2009, and am happy I decided to become part of The Family Dental Center team!
I was born and raised in Iowa, graduating from Solon High School, just minutes north of Iowa City. I received my dental degree at The University of Iowa in 1999, and spent an additional year as a resident in Advanced General Dentistry. I am proud to be able to say that I was educated in Iowa, and stayed close to home to help serve the community where I was raised. Practicing in an office where I can provide dentistry for the whole family is exciting for me. Cosmetic and implant dentistry are of particular interest to me. What brings me the most joy at work is to hear my patients comment that I have provided a positive dental experience and eased their fears. Outside of work, I enjoy being a husband to my wife, Laura and a father to our young family of three children. I also enjoy spending time with our two boxer dogs.
Dr. David Gugliano, DDS
My name is David Gugliano and I am excited to be able to offer you dental care!
I have lived in Iowa City since I was four years old and am proud to call the area home to this day. After graduating from Iowa City West High I completed both my undergraduate and dental degrees at the University of Iowa, graduating with my dental degree in 2014. I am married to my best friend, Bethany, who I met in high school. Our children, Cole, Charlotte and newborn twins: Crew and Carver, occupy most of our day as we absolutely love watching them grow up. In my free time, I enjoy woodworking, cheering on the Hawkeyes, and taking our dog, Nola, on walks through the neighborhood. I am very excited that I get to offer dental care to the community that raised me!
Dr. Karley Brantman, DDS
Hello, my name is Karley Brantman, and I joined The Family Dental Center in May 2021.
I grew up on the Eastside of Iowa City and graduated from Iowa City High. I received my Bachelor of Science in Health and Human Physiology from the University of Iowa, where I went on to also receive my dental degree. My husband, Adam, and I have two daughters -- June (2.5 years) and Ruby (5 months). We love cheering on our favorite team, which led to some of June's first words: "Go Hawkeyes!" I enjoy spending time outdoors with the girls, going to parks, and riding bikes as a family. I am very excited to be joining the team at The Family Dental Center and for the opportunity to provide my hometown with the exceptional patient care that is the standard here. I have worked in Patient Administration at The Family Dental Center since 2014. As the department manager, I have the honor of leading the lovely ladies at the front desk. I enjoy serving patients at check out, helping them understand their insurance and cost of treatment. I also work with specialty offices to coordinate patient care.
I moved to the area after graduating high school in Fort Dodge to attend the University of Iowa. I live with my husband, two daughters and our dog, Gus. I serve on the board of the Extended Say Program at Horn Elementary. In my spare time, I enjoy running, biking, gardening, reading and target shooting.
I consider myself an open book and am blessed to spend my week having great conversations with the staff and patients of the office.

Greeting and saying hello to our patients is just one of my favorite things as a Patient Administrator that I do here at The Family Dental Center. Most of my office activities are working insurance benefits for Dr. Stultz, our Orthodontist.
There is never a dull moment in our home with my 5 children (3 boys and 2 girls) and our 2 Weimaraner’s, Otto and Walter. Spending time with family and friends, baking, watching crime TV and following my favorite football teams are all part of how I spend my time when I am not working.
Many do not know that I lived in Germany which gave me the opportunity to visit amazing places like Paris, France; Prague, Czech Republic; and Boleslawiec, Poland.
I want everyone to know that working at The Family Dental Center is an extremely positive place to be. All of this carries forward into our patient care. It is like a large caring family where everyone is treated with kindness and respect the moment they walk through the door.

Hi! We are members of the dental assisting team at The Family Dental Center and we work alongside our team of doctors to provide you with the best possible care.
Our doctors provide a wide variety of services from simple fillings to more complex surgical, restorative, and orthodontic cases. All of our team members have undergone additional training and we are certified in Expanded Functional Dental Assisting so that we can serve you and your needs. We will explain your treatment needs to you, answer your questions, and inform you of what to expect after your visit with us. We also call many of our patients the next day, just to make sure they are doing well.

After high school I attended Iowa State University. From there, I received on-the-job training as a Dental Assistant as well as Expanded Functions training. That brought me to The Family Dental Center where I assist our doctors with patients, CEREC millwork, and helping to make the office run smoothly.
Taking walks/runs with my husband, Jordon, and working out are favorite outside of work activities. You may be surprised to hear that I also enjoy crocheting newborn hats for our local hospitals. Baking is also a favorite of mine and bringing treats for the staff.

I am an Expanded Functions Dental Assistant at The Family Dental Center. Here I assist with operative appointments, patient management and I am CEREC Certified.
It is a busy household with my husband, son and furry family friends Ollie, the dog and Ellie, the cat. I love being outside and going to the gym even though it can be challenging sometimes to schedule the time. Did you know, my hands and fingers are doubled jointed?!

Working in a dental office is always changing and keeping up with providing services like our Same Day Dentistry (CEREC) are so important. I am CEREC Certified and a Dental Assistant with my RDA and EFDA for The Family Dental Center. I graduated from Kirkwood in their Dental Assistant program.
Family time and enjoying the company of my friends is how I spend my time away from the dental clinic. Being outdoors, running and enjoying my dogs Izzy and Calvin are so much fun. When I am inside you can find me cooking and baking. An interesting thing about me that not everyone knows is that I have a birthmark in my eye.

I graduated from the University of Iowa with a BS in Dental Hygiene and started my career with The Family Dental Center. Caring for our patient’s oral health is so rewarding.
Both of my children are currently attending college. My son is at the University of Minnesota and my daughter at the University of Iowa. Away from work I enjoy walking, bicycling and baking for my husband, family and friends.
Working with compassionate, solid, humble and principled leaders has kept me here. This practice has grown exponentially since I started, been through natural disasters, personnel changes, location changes, but the mission is a stalwart. Here at The Family Dental Center I truly believe it is your home, we care about individuals like family and I hope to have a lifelong relationship with our patients.

I often go by my nickname KareBear, so feel free to call me that. At The Family Dental Center, I am a Hygiene Assistant where I assist the hygienists and help with other clinical activities. I attended Kirkwood Community College in the Dental Assisting Program.

For the last 27 years I have been a Dental Hygienist after graduating from the University of Iowa. I enjoy getting to know our patients and their families. It is so much fun to see the kids grow and change while taking care of their oral health.
I have been married for 27 years and our son, Jake attends Liberty High School. We all share our home with Sophie, our Malitpoo princess.
Participating in three mission trips to Haiti has taught me more about abundant joy than I have known before. I always look forward to returning there.
As a true Hawkeye fan, I enjoy sports, walking, reading and traveling. Time with family and friends is always an important part of our home and life.

I am a Registered Dental Hygienist at The Family Dental Center providing preventive dental care and education to patients of all ages. I attended the University of Iowa where I received my BS in Dental Hygiene.
It is a busy home with my two sons, one daughter and two cats, Louie and Lizzy.
Many do not know that I served in the Iowa Army National Guard and I am truly proud of my time in the service.
When not at work you will find me gardening, refinishing furniture and traveling anywhere there is a body of water to relax by.

After attending Hawkeye Community College in the Dental Hygiene program, I went to the University of Saint Francis in Joliet, IL to receive my BS as a Dental Hygienist. Here at The Family Dental Center I provide prophylactic cleanings, preventative and therapeutic periodontal treatment and education for our patients.
I live with my husband of 16 years, two boys, tow girls and our family furry friend and dog, Ruby.
Watching my children participate in sports and activities are an important part of my life. Add in shopping and time with friends and family, I am on cloud nine.
The Family Dental Center is like a second family. I have worked at this amazing office for 16 years and hope to be here for 100 more.

I am a Dental Assistant who attended Kirkwood to receive my RDA and EFDA. Working in the Ortho department, I find my days filled with performing a variety of activities but learning more about our patients and seeing how excited they are with their results is the most rewarding part of my job.
My time away from The Family Dental Center is spent at football games, wrestling meets, golfing, and traveling. I also have 2 dogs, Ivy and Roczen who love playing outside with us.
